Today, I will share Billboard to Me (BB2ME) number 42 – sit at the bar. I mentioned previously that not all Billboards to me are profound. This one certainly is not. I hope you enjoy it.
Europe is full of historic pubs and bars.
I like visiting Europe. One of the reasons I enjoy spending time there is that it is full of historic pubs. There are excellent pubs in the UK, fun beer halls in Germany, and tasty tapas bars in Spain. Europe houses many places to go and have a good time. What you see pictured below is the White Hart Inn located in Edinburgh, Scotland. Kim and I were able to visit there last year.
Every brewery in Loudoun County has a good bar.
In addition, I live in Loudoun County, Virginia, which is full of micro and craft breweries. They are all over the place, and I’ve made visiting each personal goal.
I sit at the bar when I visit European pubs and local breweries.
I enjoy visiting European pubs and local breweries as much as possible. It is an excellent way to spend an afternoon on the weekend. Kim usually joins me. Below, you see the two of us pictured at the Jameson bar in Dublin, which explains all the green in the picture. On Sundays, I do my best to visit a new Brewery in Loudoun County, drink a beer, eat a burger, and hang out—the perfect formula for a good time.
BB2ME #42 – there are many reasons to sit at the bar.
Why I wrote this BB2ME
Sitting at the bar is practical advice, especially if you go out alone or as a couple. Many of the best restaurants and pubs have long waits for a table. Don’t waste your time in line. Instead, head to the bar and grab a stool. You usually can get the same food and drink there. Who knows, you may create a wonderful experience. For example, a picture of Kim and me is below at the Guinness Storehouse gravity bar. It is the perfect place to grab the best beer in the world. Slainte!
How I incorporated this billboard into my life
Anytime I go out solo, I sit at the bar. If Kim and I go out, we usually check the bar even if we have a reservation. I’ve had exciting conversations, excellent drinks, and good times sitting at the bar.
What about you?
Do you ever sit at the bar or only at a table? If you never sit at the bar, my challenge is to do it next time. Skip the line and have a good time. The last thing I’ll say is you can sit at the bar and not drink. I don’t want to imply that one has to consume alcohol to have a good time when out and about.
