Today, I will share the next billboard to me, number 50: Let your kids pursue their dreams. I will tell the story of my son achieving his dream. It is hard to believe I’m up to my 50th billboard to me.
Riley’s dream was to play college soccer.
After graduating high school in 2019, my younger son, Riley, had a big dream. He wanted to play college soccer and earn a degree.

He played two years at Ferrum.
Riley started chasing his dream when he went to Ferrum College and played soccer there for two years.

He spent a year in Germany.
Riley continued chasing his dream when he decided to take a gap year from school. He moved and lived in Germany for a year, playing soccer and studying the German language. Nowadays, he speaks much better German than I do.

Riley overcame many obstacles.
While chasing his dream, Riley had to overcome several obstacles. He suffered multiple injuries while playing soccer, and COVID happened while he was overseas in Germany. If you thought things were complicated here in the States, imagine living in a foreign country and dealing with the pandemic.

Riley continued chasing his dream
Riley returned home to the States to play his final two years of eligibility at Randolph College. Below is a picture of him from senior night.

Riley achieved his dream.
Riley was also able to earn his degree along the way. It was a proud moment for me as a dad watching my son achieve his dream of playing soccer in college and earn a degree.

BB2ME #50 — let your children chase their dreams.
This billboard was inspired by Riley achieving his dream.

Why I wrote this BB2ME
I wrote this billboard as a reminder that I should do my best to let my children chase their dreams, and I should also chase my dreams. I love this quote If you never chase your dreams, you’ll never catch them.

What about you?
Are you chasing your dream? If you’re a parent, are you letting your children pursue their own dreams? I don’t normally give parenting advice because I’m not the best dad in the world. However, I do think I’m right on this one. Let your kids pursue their dreams. You never know; they may achieve them.
I am Doug Keating, and this is my letter to my sons.
