Bonjour. I am super excited. Travel to Europe is finally opening up for Americans. Today I am sharing the top five reasons that I love vacationing in France.

France is one of my favorite European countries.

The #1 reason I love to vacation in France – Food

France is world-famous for its food and it should be. The French take their food seriously, and it is seriously good. Crepes, croissants, beef burgundy, and escargot to name a few famous French foods. Oh my – I eat like a king every time I am in France. Sure – a normal French meal takes a few hours, but it is worth every minute. Bon appetite!

Escargot (snails) are delicious – give them a try!

Reason #2 to visit France – Sites

France is full of wonderful sites. You could spend a whole week in Paris and not be bored. Paris includes the Louvre, the Eiffel Tower, the Notre Dame Cathedral, and many other sites to see. Don’t spend all of your time in Paris. Go and see other parts of the country to include the historic cathedrals, the D-Day beaches in Normandy, and several beautiful cities on the Mediterranean Sea.

Reason #3 to visit France – Wine

There is a reason that French wine is world-famous – it is world-class. I am not even a big wine drinker, and I love French wine. Who cares if you don’t drink wine – visit French wine country. The Burgundy region is full of many stunning wine villages. Alsace does as well. Be sure to pick up a bottle or two while there.

Reason #4 – French culture

The French have a unique culture. They do things their own way. Their cities have museums full of fine art. Everyone there seems to dress better. They have a thriving café culture, especially in Paris. No better way to spend an afternoon than sitting at a Paris café, drinking coffee, watching French culture walk by.

Reason #5 – Regional diversity

If you travel all over France, you will notice that every region is different. Some of them are way different. Normandy in the North is way different than Provence in the South. The Riviera is much different than the Alsace region. Burgundy, Paris, and the Ill de France are all unique. This country feels like a patchwork of various regions. You will be pleasantly surprised by all the regional diversity.
