In my last video, I shared my top ten albums for 2022. Now, I will identify my favorite songs for the last year. I simply picked the best song from my favorite albums. As always your feedback and thoughts are welcome.
At #10 is “I’m on your side” from the future
Let’s start at #10 with Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats. The best song on the album The future is “I’m on your side”. I am including links to Spotify in case you want to hear these songs.
My favorite song number 9
At #9 is an obscure choice off the album Things are Great by the Band of Horses. The song is “Cructch” which sounds a lot like early Cure to me.
Best song #8 album for 2022. Eddie Vedder with “The Dark”
At #8 is an artist that many of you will know, Eddie Vedder. The best song from his surprisingly good album Earthling is “The Dark”.
My favorite song Number 7 comes from the Lumineers
Last year one of my favorite bands, The Lumineers, released an excellent album, Brightside. Their best song was “You were never really mine”.
My favorite song #6 album for 2022
At #6, is – Tears for Fears. My favorite song was “No Small Thing” from the excellent album, Tipping Point. This song is really, really good. I highly recommend it.
Song Number 5 album for 2022. Caamp – Lavender Girl
Coming in at #5 is Caamp with Lavender Girl. found on their album Lavender Days. If you are looking for a great modern band, look no further. I highly recommend Caamp.
Best song #4. Black Keys with “Wild Child”
At #4 is the Black Keys. Their most recent release Dropout Boogie includes many great songs. The best is “Wild Child”.
Song Number 3. Jack White with “Taking Me Back”
At #3 is Jack White. My favorite song from the album Fear of the Dawn is called “Taking Me Back”. It opens the album and lets you know this album will take you someplace special.
The second-best of 2022 is “The Hardest Cut” by Spoon
At #2 is Spoon. They released Lucifer on the Couch which is full of great songs. The best song is called “The Hardest Cut”, although I enjoy every one of them.
The song of the year is “Black Summer” by the RHCP
Let’s finish the list with The Red Hot Chilli Peppers. Their song “Black Summer” is #1, my song of the year. It opens the album is and a killer tune.
