I’m returning to my top 50 favorite rock bands. In this video series, I’m going to share the best three albums by each band. This blog is for band #48 – Squeeze.
Criteria for selecting the best three albums
Here are the three criteria I used to create this list. First, the band must have released at least three albums. Not an issue for Squeeze they have many many records. Second Greatest Hits albums are allowed. You will see one on this list. Third, no live albums are allowed. For example, Squeeze actually has a pretty good one called live at the Fillmore. It is not on this list.
The third-best album by Squeeze is East Side Story
I’m going to note that this band actually has released two pretty good albums recently. They’re not on this list because I’m all about classic Squeeze. The third-best album by Squeeze is East Side Story. It includes their biggest hit “Tempted” as well as several other good songs.
The second-best Squeeze album is Argybargy
Squeeze’s second-best album is Argybargy. I have no idea what that means. It includes several hit songs like “Pulling Mussels from the Shell” and is pleasant to listen to end-to-end.
The best album by Squeeze is Singles
Squeeze’s best album is the greatest hits record called Singles. It includes all of their best songs from the early years. They did release another greatest hits album. I listened to it just the other day – it is not better and includes several throwaway songs so stick with this one. It’s the classic if you grew up in the 80s you probably had this on tape or vinyl or one of your friends did. It was that popular.
There you have it – the three best Squeeze albums. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
