It is time for a brand-new series. I’m returning to my top 50 favorite rock bands. In this video series, I’m going to share the best three albums by each band, starting with #50 Oingo Boingo.

Criteria for selecting the best three albums

I did create three criteria when formulating this list. First I’ll skip a band if they did not release at least three albums. Second I will include Greatest Hits albums if they are excellent. Third – no live albums are allowed on the list. For example, Oingo Bongo actually released several great live albums, especially if you like this band. None of them appear in this list.

The third-best album by Oingo Boingo is Nothing to fear

Number three for Oingo Boingo is the album Nothing to Fear. It is one of their early ones. Oingo Boingo’s first three albums are all pretty strange. In fact, each contains some really weird songs. This one is my favorite. I particularly like the song “Gray Matter” and “Reptiles and Samurai”.

The second-best Oingo Boingo album is a greatest hits album

It is called Best of Boingo. If you’re a fan of this band and you want one album that has the best songs from all the others it is this one.

The best album by Oingo Boingo is Dead Man’s Party

I feel like the band really hit its stride in the mid-80s with this release. Dead Man’s Party includes the song “Another Day”, “Stay”, “Weird Science” and of course the awesome title track.

There you have it – the three best Oingo Boingo albums. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

I am Doug Keating and this is my letter to my sons.
